it depends on the game and the engine used, but I can definitely confirm this. Back in 2011 I build a PC with the i7 870 and a GTX 570, in 2013 I upgraded to a GTX 770 and in 2015 to a GTX 970. Even in 2017 all latest games were running smooth as butter with max settings, all over 144fps. If you build a PC with a solid foundation, its only necessary to be swapping the GPU every now and then and the machine can survive for years.

I don't watch any videos of this stupid guy, but I am still on my 4790k and it runs everything just fine.
You need to upgrade only GPU.
Microsoft, Intel and AMD would of course, disagree with that very much as it would kill their business.
Personally, I would rather buy an 10GHz 4-core CPU than a 5GHz 32-core.
These cores are like the megapixels for mobile phones cameras: just a show of tech, but no practical value for the everyday people.
They are focusing all the wrong things.

the problem are the people that can actually afford it, which always need BETTER and BIGGER and keep feeding this twisted machinery. Its what keeps them going and sadly, I don't think it will ever change ... :/

It won't, you are 100% right. I think you are talking the "PC Elite" or so they think they are. Rolling Eyes

Like Csimbi, I don't watch this guy at all. He is not a credible source of information for anything.

yes, thats them - the pC mAsTeR rAcE lul

Got a friend like that, labeling himself as being PC MR, meanwhile, when he needs to swap out the RAM modules in his excessively expensive PC, he rather waits for me for a week until I come, rather then touching it on his own (yes, he would most likely fuck up the whole machine).
