AMD's CPU's are more efficient and built on a lower nm design in general so AMD would win any efficienty (heat/noise) tests.

Also, aren't these the two laptops they swapped memory between and had reversed results, because one (the AMD one I believe) came with cheapo half-speed memory? Maybe that was another pair of laptops...
