. The only potential problem is that this handy piece of software requires an Nvidia RTX graphics card to use. And while NVIDIA has locked this feature on its latest Turing GPUs, there is a workaround via which you can install it on almost all NVIDIA graphics cards. All you have to do is download the application, locat

Quite disappointing.
There should be 2.0 thru 11.2 positional audio support by now, playing 1024 clips simultaneously, using cached samples (so audio would not have to be re-loaded every time from disk).
The game would say something like:
Code:
<audiosrc clip="/res/bang.ogg" volume="1.0" playspeed="1.0" startingpos="1500.0,500.0,1000.0" heading="45.0" movespeed="0" enveffect="forest,normal" disteffect="off" loop="0"/>

And then the card would translate that to the currently selected speaker setup's channels - playing the sound at the right volume at the right place, emitting the audio clip towards the right direction.

Sound card makers have been sitting on their ass for decades.
Nothing new, just polishing the same old same old.
Gravis Ultrasound was the last great card.
NVidia is certainly well positioned to do something about it.

The reason it's not for GTX cards out of the box is because of the massive performance hit those cards take. Even the RTX cards take huge framerate hits in games using this.

It's an awesome processor that can erase some incredible amounts of background noise, but it takes a ton of processing power, enough so that this is only usable for stuff like video conferencing. Using it in games to voice chat tanks the frames.
