Considering that Diablo III sucked big time, that might not be such a bad idea.
Also, releasing on GOG.com or Steam might also help; nobody likes enforcing one specific distribution platform.

D3 didn't suck "big" time. I agree it wasn't as good as 2.. but it didn't suck big time. I for one put 100's of hours into it and met/played with some pretty amazing people. I definitely hope D4 is good and they don't f it up.
