Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have revealed some additional details about Dark Souls Remastered. Although there is no mention of a new lighting system – or a transition to a new engine – the teams confirmed that the PC version will feature 2K textures. | good enough for a "world" of ~30 million sold 4K TVs....Until it replaces 1080p while price matching it, it won't be "popular". |

People are not avoiding 4k and 8k displays because they don't want them.
They are avoiding them as it's way too expensive for the little value they bring - these are just "nice to have".
Once the prices drop, people will start buying them - but for what?
Playing mediocre 2k res games? Bah |
