I have no care for these things anymore. Reasons why.
- Linux is still going nowhere when it comes to games. Valve is not changing anything.
- Steambox offerings are way too expensive. I can build a smaller gaming machine for cheaper
- avoid any proprietary things that will surely be introduced with these things.
- I can likely buy the controller any way if I want one |

| Lets get something straight too. Linux does not do DirectX. It's a TRANSLATOR, it's not genuine DirectX. Valve made a translator that translates DX calls to OpenGL. OpenGL has always lagged behind DirectX as far as I'm concerned and so with a translator what is not supported will not work and then things will be faked using different api calls on OpenGL. Steamboxes, most I've seen are all major ripoffs and what's cheap, 'is' cheap. |
