I'm really worried about this game.
I'm so hyped up about it I'm beginning to worry that no game can measure up. But everything they show just ups the ante on the awesome. Plus, they promise it will be entirely DRM free via Gog.com... which just adds to the awesome. It's up for pre-order already. |

Even better is that they have proved that DRM actually harms game performance a lot.
When Witcher 2 first came out I had a pretty weak graphics card and wasn't sure I could run it so I pirated a copy to check. When the GOG version came out replacing the cracked Steam binaries with the DRM-free GOG ones actually boosted performance by around 10%.
The game did nearly melt my graphics card so it was a few weeks before I got a new one and bought it from GOG. |

For me the GOG downloader works perfectly. (It is based on the GetRight engine), but I use it for the large downloads only (i.e. >1G).
For smaller ones the direct links work just fine. |
