The SimCity Blog announces the online-only requirement is being removed from the Windows edition of SimCity as of the upcoming Update 10, which adds a single-player mode to the urban-planning game.

I've never paid a blind bit of attention to Simcity 5, until I seen the post here, 'offline is coming'
Sooo, just decided to have a look at amazon uk, what players are saying about this game.
485 reviews
321 1 star
73 5 star.
Obviously says it all.
It can't be played offline, then all of a sudden can.
How can you trust this? What happens if people buy this on the pretext of offline, and maxis say 'sorry, we can't implement it offline'? A shop ain't going to take it back as boxes will state ' online playing required'

ooh Offline mode now... probably means they want to kill off running the multiplayer servers by next year
Modding policy? hah the game was dead on arrival with that online drm shite... to think modders would waste there time.

It didn't work out as expected (i.e., it lost money), so now they're all "We SOOOOO trust our customers!" Fuck EA and their punish-the-customers DRM mentality.
I didn't buy it then, I won't buy it now. |
