Blurry textures on the Xbox 360 version, which aren\'t replaced with higher-quality versions as they come into closer view, may be a symptom of having the mammoth RPG* installed on the hard drive. In a post on the game\'s official message board, a Bethesda Softworks rep states:

Skyrim uses a lot of dynamic streaming

AFAIK, a console's resolution is far less than a PCs. Could someone clarify, why would you need to replace textures with higher-quality versions in the first place?

I get missing textures in any setting on PC not to mention the flickering issue via shadows and the bright flash that gives people seizures. The game itself is fucked up. How does this go unnoticed by them?

They have dealines, you know. Probably the management did a test run for a minute in the area where you start (those are usually highly detailed to impress the newcomers), and then approved it for release.

Deadlines don't really matter if you have a core issue with the game that is on all platforms.

Absolutely no texture problems on PS3. It looks superb on my Panasonic, but $hit on my LG.
The only issue i have is with the sound? It could have been better and when wearing headphones, it is more pronounced in the right rather than balanced.

I just today was at my wife's cousins place and he was asking me how to get through ustengrav for the horn and tips and his two axes were missing the textures. The basic models are there usually blue or pinkish I think with a psuedo tf2 look. Shadow flickering does happen on the ps3 as well I saw this when he was running around morthal.

This was all on the ps3 btw.

Anyways the performance of the game overall if they fixed these issues is solid imo. The loading screens are nice visually and in a simplistic way which I find appealing. I have it on two striped ssd's with my other games (128gb ssds got on rebate offer good deal). Deus Ex HR for example despite this took some time to load here and there.

I've seen the shadow flicker thing, but only when in a dense area -bushes, trees. To be honest i turned a tiny bit and it was gone. It's not something that remotely stops the game or attracts my attention during gameplay, i've had to consciously look for it to remember it.
As i've said, it looks stunning on my plasma panasonic.
