Cryptic Studios sent out a press release announcing that Star Trek Online will be going free-to-play later this year.

Star Trek Online, the acclaimed sci-fi MMORPG, developed by Cryptic
Studios, Inc. (\uot;Cryptic Studios\uot;), will be free-to-play in 2011.
Players will be able to download and enjoy the game
