And its been 5 years now, since the PS3 is out ? and they just now figure it out...lol

That's because the "findings" are probably conducted on a PS3 with custom firmware (hacked console).

it say on news that this has gone longer than just now

The long-running dispute between the two tech firms centres around the playback facility for Blu-Ray discs.
