AMD has released the new AMD Catalyst 11.1 drivers
for Windows XP (32bit / 64bit), Windows Vista / Windows 7 (32bit / 64bit), and Linux. The Hotfix is mainly for those

| That's a pretty laughable list of fixes. WTF would anyone want a card that has so many problems. This pretty much shows the quality of their product. God knows how many problems aren't fixed. |

Come on guys. Drivers are meant to fix things. What's so surprising about these fixes? On the contrary, it's nice to see things getting addressed.
Nvidia fixes stuff as well. That's the way it's supposed to be.
It's also nice to see AMD being hot on their....ermm...hotfixes and they address stuff so fast these days. Nvidia is calling these drivers "betas". So they are both doing the same thing.
During the past years, the two things that busted my balls, are Bad Company 2 on my ATI cards and Dawn of War 2 on my GTX 460. No one is trouble free and whoever thinks so, just kids himself. |

| Nvidia drivers never had THIS many problems. Everything runs great with my card. If I ever saw this many problems with my card getting fixed I'd be very very concerned. This is just a example of how shoddy their quality is. |

You keep forgetting that the 5000 series, the 6800 series and the 6900 series, all feature different architectures, while Nvidia's offerings for the same time period, are all based on Fermi.
It's much more probable for AMD's cards to require some attention here and there. They do attend them and that's all. That shows proficiency. Why would anyone complain about it? Ok they do some stupid things some times, but I don't recall AMD ever distributing a driver that halts the card's fan! |

LOL at the fanboi war.
I've used a 4870 for a long time now and have had no problems apart from slow loading times on BC2 maps, before that I had a 4670 as a go between and before that I think it was a 7800gs. The reality is when anyone gets a new product for the PC no matter who its made by there are always problems, as long as the company collates the information on bugs and fixes them I am happy.
Its funny how people say its trivial stuff but who watches VC1 media for four hours? not many people. Text missing in Nostradamus- The Last Prophecy demo? Its a big game so I guess millions will have played it and been disappointed yes? no. And as for AMD fanboi's constantly brining up nvidia's one bad driver that stopped the fan do some research there are always trivial problems and yes that was a big one but it's getting old now. |
