Rockstar has released a new patch #6 (1.0.6.0) for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV. The most significant changes are the removal of the Social Club application required to launch the game, and enhanced multiplayer security to protect against cheaters. WOW, they got rid of that moronic social club!

Maybe they can get rid of the inability to re-install the game once you delete it from the HDD without having to resort to 3rd party apps to remove the registry junk left there as well.

This game was the biggest pain the arse I have ever experienced when trying to install and play.

This reminds me of politicians "giving with one hand, and taking with the other. Agreed the annoying social "crap" club had prevented faster loadin tines but if this is going to be embedded during app lauch then whats the difference ? Besides can anyone explain why on earth does it take forever and a day to get passed the infuriatingly character slideshow loading phase, even though your system has ample processor and memory bandwidth ? No point in having a pc with max ram and the latest processor with a 64bit o/s, two fingered salute to you cockstar.

lol at the joy of owning the latest pc and blowing wads on them only for them still not able to play games. I wonder why i gave up that shit hobby years ago -not! Works fine on some rigs but not on others. can keep them that's why i own a console to cancel out that crap
