They are still selling us BS though.
There will probably never be new "MAPS" in the way we are used to. They will just 'create' new editions of the current maps with a different game mode.
How can a 'map pack' not need to download 'something'? The reason? the difficult part to create, the fucking map itself, already exists on the disc. They just supply a new configuration to the server, which should have been available day 1.
So great, we'll have the same map playable 4 different ways in the end, for the same number of unique maps that shipped with the game, never to get an actual 'new' map with unique content (my supposition).
It's actually a genius effort on their part, as they can lay off the map designers since the maps already exist, and just keep us chugging along on their initial effort, with us thinking they are giving us new stuff when they're not.
I'd rather pay to have new maps, than get this BS "here's the map you're used to 'with a twist!'" treatment. Killzone 2 handled this nicely. I care not if the 'community' is segmented. There is no 'community' in this game, or any recent multiplayer game. It's just you fragging random pub scrubs. |

"don't ever want to " .. doesn't mean they won't ever..
Just make them stick to it really, because the words of EA/Dice mean very little, especially when they have been somewhat misleading already like dedicated servers ... if you pay for it.
They seem to like making subtle advertisements that try to put down the competition, and paint the picture they are really good, when they really aren't much better at all. |
