I think it looks pretty damn good actually. Don't know what you are expecting. As for Xbox vs PS3, I don't see any real difference other than Xbox looks darker.

Yea you could get exactly identical outputs by adjusting your tv panel accordingly

very true, the difference you can make on HD tv picture quality is remarkable. Play with sharpness and things like live color, adv contrast enhancer,clear white and colour space. These settings are easily passed off as poor or superb quailty graphics between consoles.
