Valve has just released a minor patch to
Left 4 Dead, which addresses frustrations some users have reported with both the Versus mode and co-op difficulty settings. The update should be automatically applied through Steam. Server owners should run hldsupdatetool to grab this required update.

This game took way too long and my interest faded. Practically couldn't care less anymore myself.
