Looks like

some people are having problems to install boxed copy of Fallout 3 because of \'shady\' third-party programs that they have installed on their machines which conflict with Fallout 3\'s (and other games) installer. ...the person on the phone informed me that you have to uninstall any cd writing pro

looks like some nooby console game anyway.. why'd they even bother releasing the game on the PC... stupid developers, if you ain't gonna do it right don't fecking bother.

Why they package some securom shit in order to stop piracy against the legit buyers?.. they're just pissing them off and putting them through the inconvenience... while pirates just use a cracked copy to try the game.

IMHO, it's Oblivion re-skinned with a new story on a mildly less-buggy Oblivion engine. It's not crap but definitely with the lack of money put into it a lot will of pirating will occur. As a matter of fact lots are already downloading it. Who's to blame? I bought it expecting more but knowing up front I could be disappointed.

The protection isn't invasive.. SecuROM just screwed up. Not a problem if you're using the RELOADED crack or the fixed .exe from SecuROM.
Also, for those that didn't know already, ONLY the launcher has a disc-check routine in it. You can bypass the check by launching Fallout3.exe instead of Fallout3Launcher.exe. Simple as that really!

I have the game (bought the Collectors Edition for PC and the GAME exclusive for PS3) and I am totally hooked on it.
I experienced no installation issues, no warning prompts, nothing.

The only things I would fault it on is the intro voice acting for Catherine, the fact that some textures are low-res, not a big issue really because I'm betting we'll see a huuugggee Qarl's texture pack come out for it in a month or so.

Player character movements in 3rd person mode can sometimes appear stiff, but it isn't distracting if you've played Mass Effect or Dead Space to death.. same kind of perspective.
The amount of weapons and armors in this game is astonishing though, you can really dress up your character to look like a bad-ass Razz

Overall from what I have played so far, the character customization, story development, atmosphere, map design and sound effects are awesome. Seriously.

Totaly agree, this is just why we're glad it is from Bethesda, we will get an editor and the world will be our oyster!
If this was made by Bohemia Interactive, then all we would get are moaners complaining that it's ArmA without tanks Rolling Eyes
It takes Fallout1/2 and does exactly what it says on the tin, turns them into a glorious 3D experience in FA3 Cool
Come back when you've actualy bought it -to those that say it's a console game- Everything on PC is a console game these days, GTA4 anyone? No one complains other than spoilt brats

Also, the guys that worked on Oblivion Script Extender are already working on a Fallout 3 Script Extender. This will surely pave the way for some killer mods.
Bethesda have yet to make a Fallout 3 Modders sub-forum though Sad
