Anyone played that Red Baron game? That's back when dogfighting was more than blowing up some blip on the radar from 2 miles away...

I really want that to be good...but I'm also really sure it will be crap.

Someone uh, you know, borrow it, and tell us how it is. Please?

To be honest i doubt it will be very good, or even good.
The clue is the 'Red Baron 'Arcade part Laughing
Look what happened to EF2000 predecessor Eurofighter Typhoon? They stuck DID/ BAE logos on it and it was 'Incoming' by RAGE (who incidently bought DID) with space ships and a utterly rubbish scripted linear campaign Rolling Eyes Fans of EF2000 were enraged, to put it mildly.

Want to read about the real simulation Red Baron game?

Q&A: Valve Explains Why PC Gaming's Gaining Steam

An install base is nothing, quoting 15,000,000 means jack! How many of those people are *actualy* playing on Steam still?? I played Half Life 2 on Steam then waited 4 years before i bought The Ship and then had to activate my account again.
Also, the consoles have a LARGER user base, compairing ONE game, WoW, and trying to justify PC gaming isn't dead is laughable. Sales of one PC title is probaly one tenth of a similar console title. (WoW aside as it's user base is totaly unique)
The PC has been stale for years, it doesn't do *zero* new that it hasn't done for a decade and a half -beside get more expensive for it's hardware for little return. Rolling Eyes

What has the PC done new in 20 years other than introduce 3D?
Consoles, like the DS & Wii have reinvented gaming and stimulated a HUGE social audience.

Also Valve , like MS, never look outside the US and then declare 'all's wonderfull in PC land'. The world is bleeding poor sales of PC software, but blinkered Valve and MS refuse to see it..

On the otherhand: Mario and Sonic at the Olympics
Quote:
Combining the undeniable popularity of both Mario and Sonic, Sega has announced that Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games has sold five million copies worldwide in just over three months. The Wii and DS Game.

“With adored icons and fun game play, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games has shot to the top of the sales charts and is clearly resonating with the growing audience of casual gamers that want an engaging and accessible gaming experience,” said Simon Jeffery, President and COO, SEGA of America.

Additionally, according to the NPD Group, the game was one of the top-ten best-selling titles in the United States - across all platforms - in the holiday sales month of December.

An incredible fun and sociable game sells MILLIONS, without hundreds and hundreds of bucks of hardware needed to play it -apart from a TV that everyone has got Laughing
