Apparently Electronic Arts wants to purchase rival game publisher Take Two Interactive pretty badly.
The company has now launched its own web site devoted to their $2 billion proposal, with the URL called eatake2.com. Take Two has not officially commented on the EA takeover bid since its initial press release

I agree with roller. What the hell is going on in this world? There should be a limit as to how much each company is allowed to grow. Especially in EAs case. These guys must stop messing around the game industry. THey are destoying it. They are forcing the programmers to do their bidding. Look at crysis for example. They forced its release and the result was an unoptimised piece of shit! All they want is having you constantly throwing money at them. EA MUST GO DOWN ASAP!

Unfortunately, the whole PC games industry is in as much $hit as the hardware sector.
This is about buying for 'exclusives' ie for release on a console first/only. It's the only way to make money now. (certainly not on PC)
EA/M$ are just trying to buy everyone out to make as much revenue as possible.
Nintendo appears to be the only independant company that can still do original games, without some draconian corporation telling them what it wants and WHEN it wants it.
Even Sony still panders, on the occasion, to the buck/pound signs...
