I tried those Cvar edits and boy didn't it look gorgeous on my 7800GT...all of 5fps
Still, if ever there was a good game that is worth an upgrade, Crysis sure looks like it. |

I playing Crysis with ForceWare 169.04 and i noticed a slight performance improvment. In Vista i can play in 1280x1024, all in very high except shaders (30, 40 FPS [XP, all in High, 40, 50 FPS]). I also noticed that when you put shaders in very high mode, it does the same visual treatment that the cold render option did to Far Cry (selectable by the graphics options menu)... so, why is this option not available on XP? The effects when you eneable this are the same, a carnivore performance render wich does a hyper real treatment to the entire visuals of the game. I personal recomend all of you gaming on Vista that not play Post Processing anything else than Very High and Shaders at least at High. Otherwise, is the same game in Vista than XP, Whatch the sunlight, take a few screens and you will see what i'm talking about. The Lighting effects are stunning. |
