What warranty? It's 4 years old....boy of boy.
The main thing is, your happy with Android i'm happy with my 4 years old 5SE. Put it this way, i was on my second Android by this time because the software wasn't supported. |

I don't hate Apple or iPhone. I wrote here many times that iOS devices are definitely more secure than devices with Android
But everything is hackable even iOS devices. Just FBI and iPhone users think that nobody can hack an iPhone And that's definitely good for hackers!!
Exploits like that are common....but it's very rare you can read about it on public internet.

Android is even worse, because there's simply too many devices with Android (Apple has only 14% of market).
For example, in April 2020 someone released very ugly hacking tool based on .QMG exploit

Took 3-4 weeks until my Samsung phones received a patch
But with Apple bugs it's often even worse, because Apple is often deadly silent PR: we have everything under control

Of course everything is hackable, but like real life a 'Thief' wants to take easy street over anything that warrants time and a lot of effort. Sit on public transport next time and check wi-fi, look at the number on unsecure phones on it that *you* can hack into to? People are the *weakest* link The amount that never bother to update Android Vscanners, or software or apps.
Even Smart TVs and devices have been binned now because they are vulnerable. Then there's the idiots that leave default router passwords. Apple is piss easy to navigate and make secure. I don't trust Android apps and never will since the store never vetted them. That's why it's harder to get an app on Apple.
Everything is only as good as the user either having full support throughout the devices lifetime or the user knowing what to do to protect themselves.
But as we all know companies want to sell phones so it bins software updates or slows the phone down with a one size fits all software download for your phone when it barely runs on it and you can't uninstall it! Which is what happened with my Android phones.
As i've said i've got 4 years out this one phone -same battery- and it's getting IOS 14, so that's all i ask and anyone wants. So it's looking like 5-6 years out of it and paying biometric without card details is just happy days |

whats the point? Every iOS is the same as the previous one, well, except this one now, that is going to get a feature android always had.
You have your app drawer and that's your phone. What's there to update? What's there to keep up with? Nothing, it's a simple device, for simple people. I don't even use a phone feature, I use it more as a laptop sort of, I use it to connect and troubleshoot devices, remotely control servers and so on. Phone? Who the heck needs a phone...
What I need a "phone" for iPhone cannot do. What you SABOT need a phone for, nokia 3310 can do.
Also iphone 5 is from 2014, , screw your" 4 year old phone" it's 6 years old, it's slower than $50 new android, it's a piece of shit by today's standards. I can get one for like ~$20...it's junk.
PS. I hate Apple and everything they stand for. They are worse than microsoft, they make devices for retards and enable them instead of pushing them to learn and be better. Then they deny repairs, overcharge for everything etc etc. Screw apple.
PPS. You can update your android yourself, it's easier than changing the battery on an iphone. But you were lazy, or never heard of XDA. |

| With that immature comment we’ll leave it at that. I don’t need to justify my intelligence to you over 30 years of owning phones but I respect people’s choices of phones, even if they don’t understand the security issues that they have. But there you go. |

Lazy and naive like me. Why? Because we all use our phones a million different ways and not like you.... by the way, I think there’s over a billion android retards, as you put it, in the front of the queue. Can’t believe after 30 years I’m in a heated discussion about why I like marmite and you like jam. Because that’s all this simple going off the handle is about. Why on earth do people lose the plot these days? You and I have every right to choose what phone to buy; like a car, like a PC or OS. But in the ‘old’ days there’s constructive criticism. Debate about good and bad points, but now it’s all about ‘my opinion matters’ and everyone’s a retard I’d they don’t agree. There’s no need for that, unless there’s an age, mentality issue etc. I loved good old discussions - you even learned something from them, but not anymore. It’s just a vitriol Cesspit the internet. The internet is full of lying trolls now that even believe they are right when they are wrong and pointed out. No one can even string a sentence together about why they believe they are right. On person on steam blamed (PC obviously) SnowRunner for bugs that caused his console to crash, yet when people asked him why he was on the steam forum it was because snowrunner wasn’t on steam and it’s bugged anyway. To which several people - inc my self said we had played several days (5 for me real-time) without a single bug that he described. He disappeared. The usual response these days. Start it then can’t constructively finish it, instead of coming across as a complete idiot. But that is just the norm now. They end up bringing you down to their level and they’re away off on their phone doing it on their Facebook or whatever crap they idolise and never come back to read the response.
Btw, hex puts up enough crap about Win 10 and it’s security and stability issues. I gues pretty much all the planet is a ‘retard’ then for using Win# and I’m talking at work as well |

So we have a flamewar here now
Like iPhone owners vs rest of world
Actually I could never use iPhone as my phone..it's really too much limited device for me ...or maybe I'm really too old...or maybe still too young?
well data from 2014/2015 says this
"A new study that was published last week noted that the most significant factor of how much consumers spend on Apple products a year is not how much they earn, but rather how long they've lived. According to new data from Slice Intelligence, male Apple buyers 65 and older spent the most on Apple products over the past year than any other group, with an average online spend of $976. Okay, that surprised me. "
https://www.patentlyapple.com/patently-apple/2015/11/the-demographic-that-buys-more-apple-products-online-just-might-surprise-you.html
The same with OSX vs Windows
I could never use Macbook as my computer. The same reasons I mentioned above - it's too limited. To be honest, now OSX looks already pretty dated in comparison with Windows 10. It feels even a bit funny if you have to work with it in 2020 (yeah I have lots of customers with OSX). But it would be for very long discussion
You know that I hated Windows 10 a couple years ago. And I had my reasons as IT admin. But since the end of 2019 I would say, Windows 10 is finally ready to be a good replacement for Windows 7. It just works quite well. It's not like I suddenly don't like Window 7 anymore. Actually I still very like Windows 7 and I still install classic shell into W10. But you cannot stop time / evolution ...just show must go on.
Yes you have a choice. You can stop yourself somewhere, reject new technologies and be old man or you can accept new technologies as they come....but if you wanna be "IN" there's basically no choice and we all know it well.
BTW: I forgot to post this link
