Do you still believe it's a finished product?
Same early access as before, just with more testers. |

Yawn.
No one else is bitching like you, literally And this game is the pinnacle of its genre.
Try to name ONE game that comes close to the same level of complexity and hasn't received a single patch after the fact.
Example:
Skyrim had patches, right?
Oh, but it needed the community to do the legwork, which is why the unofficial patch for Skyrim fixes over 3000 reported issues. Some of which are game-breaking and cause CTDs. Same story with Fallout 4. Bethesda didn't give a sh!t about their janky contraptions.
It's the same story for Bioware games (and they're not even half as ambitious as BG3). I installed Mass Effect Legendary a few weeks ago and discovered each game in the series had an unofficial patch which fixes approximately 500+ reported issues.
Has any other company come close to caring for a game of such magnitude? Maybe if it was an MMORPG that had sustained funding.
The point is, Larian are doing an incredible job. I'll bet you $70 and a giant cheese wheel that the community won't need to release any kind of unofficial patch.
Day 1, I've been playing the game and did not experience a single crash or game breaking issue. BG3 was not thrown out of the door in a hurry like Cyberpunk 2077 or No Man's Sky.
You? I doubt you've ever paid full price for a game since prices were bumped to $70. |

You are missing the point.
Patches are normal.
They fix compatibility issues, improve performance and stability.
They should come.
What's not normal is 500 gameplay/quest related fixes each week.
That's clearly an untested product.
So, yes, I am bitching because I am disappointed.
Divinity: Original Sin 2 fared far better. |

Missing the point? Are you sure about that? Divinity had a ton of patches [10 patches alone in 1 month, almost daily!], and even a Definitive Edition that revamped the game.
Divinity is also less than half the game compared to BG3.
See here
It was basically the same story with Original Sin 2. The classic patches prior to the definitive edition were extensive.
And let's not mention the fact that both games require a bunch of QoL mods for the best experience.
Divinity is an incredible series, and it definitely paved the way for Baldur's Gate 3. They made huge strides evolving the engine.
Personally, my favourite was the original Divine Divinity. Great soundtrack too. |

What do you mean "Not really?" lol. I'm just stating facts.
It was in EA for as long as it has been because they were working on Act 2 & 3 whilst refining the game based on community feedback. The EA approach sustained the development of the game.
Technically the patches coming out would have been in development a month before its original release date. Remember, it was moved to the beginning of August (instead of the 31st) because of Bethesda's impending bugfest, Starfield?
Do you really think a company can provide an update addressing 1000 bugs/tweaks in the space of two weeks? Maybe that's a f%^$ing clue to let you know these fixes have been in development way before August 3rd. If Larian had kept to the original release date, we'd be none the wiser and these patches would have been included in the release build, but it obviously isn't an issue since the recent reviews on Steam are all Overwhelmingly Positive.
Pretty typical for most games where the minor bug crushing and tweaks happen after all the major issues are addressed, and hey guess what? There are no major issues.
Yeah, it's clearly unfinished EA trash
I think it's the greatest game to be released in the past 20 yrs. |

Because you've still yet to sell your kidney and buy Baldur's Gate 3 Collector's Edition. |
