Electronic Arts today announced that
it is teaming up with movie director Steven Spielberg to create three new, original, game franchises:

The deal involves much more than the Hollywood director merely putting his stamp on a game or popping in for quick consultations, said Neil Young, vice president and studio

He could give them all the ideas he has but it isn't him who'll have to implement these ideas into a game.
Either way I guess something new can always bring something good. If EA won't do better games (won't be able to use all the potential of those fresh innovations), other developers may take their ideas and bring out something original and enjoyable.
