iPhone 15 Ultra aka iPhone 15 Pro Max will shift to USB-C as the new charging standard. But Apple is expected to install a custom chip inside the cable which would limit the compatibility with accessories that are not approved by Apple. If it sounds similar, this is exactly how the lightning cable works. Apple will lau

| Apple has become increasingly consumer hostile as they try to squeeze out maximum profit. I haven't touched any of their stuff for years, nor do I plan to now. |

Oh, well, this is not going to make me start buying Apple products for sure...
I would expect the EU to ban these products though.
The idea of standardization was to reduce IT garbage footprint.
This stunt however is clearly counterproductive to that objective and thus, has no place on EU markets.
Apple had ample time and opportunities to comply, yet, they choose to subvert these efforts intentionally; they need to go.
You, as a customer. should decide for yourself whether you support Apple (a corporate entity, its subsidiaries and partners), or, the future of this planet with every living and breathing thing on it.
Not much of choice, if you ask me... |

Absolute spot on! The EU will have field day.
Just don’t buy it. It’s a choice like everything. A mobile is just a mobile to me. I have an old iPhone SE that’s 5years old still supported by iOS updates and security. Use it to pay for shopping, bus travel, Lidl and work sign in. Biometric. The rest texting, email and the odd picture. Had one battery change in those 5 years by 3rd party and it’s over a year and still 95% capacity. Couldn’t give a toss about ‘features’ I’ve had my money back and more for £240 new. Headphone port, Bluetooth buds does what any other phone does. Best thing is use it for is free Facetime, which I believe android can do with someone with iPhone.
Anyway, don’t care about politics. But Apple are being right pricks going down this route |
