Skull and Bones is quickly becoming the Duke Nukem of the â??20s as Ubisoft has announced, in response to poor overall sales and an economic downturn, that it is yet again postponing the pirate simulator.

Being an UBI announcement, it's nothing more than marketing.
As for postponing it, it's just not ready, lol
It's much easier to blame the market than admit it's not quite meeting expectations and had to be pulled.

It looks like a cut-down Black Flag turned into a mobile game. Hasn't it also been in "development" for years and freaking years? This garbage must be low on the priority chain.

Ubisoft are so uninspired these days.

Forever I've been saying they should STOP giving false release dates until AFTER its passed the beta stage and they KNOW it can be finished 100% no day 1 patch shit, but 100% finished and tested by a certain date.
We, the gamers HATE updates. We LOVE finished games. We DONT like to buy beta versions then download an update bigger than the game which will change it from the beta on disc to final full version which is now a hybrid, disc and download.

MANY games these days have their release dates changed as they can never finish them on time so DONT give a release date till they are ready and they KNOW for a FACT it will be released then.

DO what many do, finish it then wait for a good time to release it. I've read many games go gold then wait 4 months as its a bad time of the year to release it. just before it goes gold THATS when you release the date to the public. that also gives you time to do that extra testing and polishing and release it with at least 1 or 2 updates already done. That way we get the final fixed version not a beta or in the case of cyberpunk an alpha version, or was that pre-alpha? I never played it back then but I heard it was really bad, kinda pre-alpha stages. I saw a video and it wasn't alpha quality then.

You REALLY need to fix your site. I click the SUBMIT button and nothing. I click the PREVIEW and it loads a preview.
I click SUBMIT and wait 5 mins and still nothing. I click it 5 times and it finally processes it and posts 10 copies.

Latest Chrome browser.

The stupid thing is that it only happened to me once. I can't simulate the error. But the fact that it's weird overall is a fact. I'd like to fix the forum/comments, but fixing the old and broken PHPBB is not a solution. Ideally, it should be connected to something newer, but running under PHP 5.6. Any ideas? I just don't have the space to write the whole system from scratch right now Sad But if I'm being realistic, rewriting the whole system is probably the only right solution....

PHP 5.6? Wowza, that's ancient! You should be on 7.4 as a bare minimum these days.

You could always hire a migration specialist or someone on Fiverr/Upwork to upgrade your current setup to the latest phpBB 3.3.9 + PHP 7.4.

If you'd prefer to move away from phpBB, I've heard good things about Flarum and Discourse.
