At the pre-TGS press briefing,
Microsoft confirmed that the Xbox 360 will be region locked for both games and DVD movie playback, meaning that you can't play games or watch DVD movies from another region other than the one your Xbox 360 is locked to.
. I might not even buy a Xbox 360 now....:(

You need a special tv to run seperate region games, at least PAL/NTSC differances.
A normal NTSC tv wont show PAL correctly, and vice versa. PSP obviously doesn't have this problem since its a handheld unit.
Japanese games work fine on NTSC without region lock, but thats probally just for pricing issues. |

thats a pretty old tv you must have, either that or you just buy shitty tvs. just about every tv made in the past ten years can do pal/pal60 and ntsc.
regions are just a pricefixing scam corperations pull. look at what someone in the UK pays for a game, then look at what someone in the USA pays. the guys in the UK pay through the ass for their shit. you think many UKers would buy stuff locally if they could just import it from the states and have it work out cheaper even including the postage? |

| Anyone know if you can get around it with using the HDTV component leads and a HDTV compatible monitor? |
