Completed the Beta two days ago. Three critiques:

Overall, it's a very distinctive game that isn't just a Dark Souls clone. It shows promise and the Beta is totally worth picking up.

WARNING, SPOILERS!

Code:
1) Harros' voice acting when his story is being read was... incredibly cringe-worthy. You can tell the actor is trying to lower his voice and add grit. Ruined the immersion for me. All the other voices are excellent, especially the fatty selling stuff in the first area.

2) The ambience, graphics and feeling are spot on, but I really wanted "more" from the first two areas. The swamp area is just beautiful, but man, I really wish it had more expansive parts so it felt like an actual level, and less like a "bridge" to another level.

3) Maybe it's just me, but the game was a waltz in the park after I rushed to find the first three weapon upgrades for Tiel. Once I was comfortable with the mechanics, I could pretty much clear both areas in one run without losing an inch of health, except maybe for the guy firing projectiles in the swamp. I also killed the boss in the dungeon on my first try and it barely scratched me. Spam attack, dodge, turn to stone, regain stamina & repeat.
