EIDOS Montreal's THIEF is almost upon us, so how about giving the original title a go until this remake hits shelves? Thief Gold has a new HD texture pack created by Bentraxx, and it really makes the fourteen year old game look a lot better. The game is bit dated, but this definitely makes it look good for its age.

But, I hate patching patches to I'll wait until they release a full build again...

I got Thief Gold through GOG during this last bunch of holiday sales and I've replayed it and a bunch of TG fan missions using version .90 and everything looks and plays great. Everything still has sharp angles to it (no true rounded smooth surfaces) but it does look a lot better.

Can't say whether this version introduces any problems (since I haven't installed it) but I can't imagine why it would.

I just pre-ordered Thief for $40 which still may have been a dumbass thing to do even at that price. But what can I say, I'm a sucker for the Thief games.
