| I wont buy an ATI/AMD one. It's nVidia or nothing here. From some of the stories I have gotten from others I hear it wont be $500USD which is kind of a turnoff. Not gonna buy a steam box if I can snap together a PC for the same or less. For a box you will have to buy proprietary parts for $500 is a lot imho. While it's gonna be better than a shit PS4 or Xbone still not going to rob me. |

| r9 270 is former HD 7870. Not a bad card but overkill for angry birds and no way it's gonna run assass-ins creed black flag at 60fps@1080p on any detail setting (game is poorly optimized). Also, how do they plan to run DX games on linux?! If they can't, why buy that crap over xbox one/ps4 ?! (dont get me wrong, I am not interested in any console) |

| #1 problem with this box is it's mostly PROPRIETARY. No go for me. I'm not gonna sit and upgrade my PC and fork out stupid amounts of money to upgrade this thing. Not gonna happen. I have zero interest in this current gen of bullshit consoles so it looks like pure pc gaming for me. |

Ah well, at least I know some people are paying attention to my posts. Within minutes I got an update.
Apparently, there are some 3rd party steam box which will require custom cards etc.... Valve apparently wont support them. Including the ones apparently with Windows and not Linux. The steam box however will/should allow you to throw any video card or upgrade any component. So it is back on the table for me. Sorry for confusion. |

"existing Steam Linux games at 1080p and 60fps"
Valve's game are all old so that shouldn't be hard.
its like valve is trying to turn pc gaming into some sort of consolized shit with some fail controller.
hl3, l4d3, new source engine, those are the only thing I'm interested in seeing from that company. |
