If you want to experience many of the features that Microsoft has in store for the Xbox One console, you had better have a paid Xbox Live Gold subscription ready to go. Microsoft has confirmed several of the console's major features will require Xbox Live Gold access. In a page on the Xbox.com site, Microsoft has a lis

That figures, since they have to recoup on their 180 turnaround. I'm sure the mouth and arse of M$ hasn't a clue what is happening at either end though. One announces and the other gets the news a week later! Gonna be a lot of lonely Xbox one non-gold subscribers. |

| Thanks for your input Mr. Tech Buff but then anything is better than being on a Sony Indian Giver Plus! membership. Sony sucks shit. |

Gold subscribers who don't want to use Skype won't see this as a value.
Quite a few people I know are leaving/already left Skype for there are better services out there nowadays - without the spying 'addon' - so I guess it's no biggie. |

This isn't exactly news. Everything on the 360 pretty much requires Gold!
And who's going to use Skype on the XBO anyway? It's built into everything these days: TV's, phones, etc.. |

Thats another reason why I'm not going to waste my money on an xboned.
you pay so much for the console then have to pay even more to use it. FU M$
Same goes for the PS4 but $ony are more likely to drop those stupid subscriptions for things like Skype and chat.
Luckily 99% of features on the PS3/Vita are still free so thats the winning console to get. Even better if you can get one with CFW.
Lets hope M$ have another 180 and remove the need for gold for at least some of the features.
If I could Skype video chat without gold then its an incentive to get the console.
They will probably change the name of the console before it gets released to the Xbox180 as they keep doing 180s on it.
Still, I dont want to get one for its stupid name. 3rd generation called one? morons. |

These kinds of methods really aggravate the public. You'd think Microsoft had figured that out by now.
It's not a case of "Pay us more and you'll get more value", but a case of "Pay us or we'll block you from using stuff that's there". And that philosophy just sucks ass overall. |

Fuck, The troll is out from under its stone or darkened room, I take it schools are back on your other forum?
Gotta love his Stone Age technical knowledge. Anyone, just mention PS3 or anything against M$ and the 8 track cassette gets automaticaly loaded and it repeats the same garbage that its spouted for the past 3 years. Tom, the extra robot from Fallout 3. Stuck in a nuclear winter. Sony...shit.....wouldn't own them....anyone listening?.......better than Sony........did I mention Sony?......
Ironically I've never subscribed to PSN and many more haven't either, just like you don't need it to use the features on the PS4. Your so fucking thick....nothing penetrates that thick skull of yours, even when it's in writing
| Quote: | You won't have to pay a fee to stream and record footage on the PS4, Sony SNE +0.35% Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida confirmed on Twitter yesterday. Anxious fans had begun to ask Yoshida about that, after it became clear the Microsoft MSFT +2.58% wouldn't be giving away those services on Xbox One, and he responded definitely. It certainly would have been awkward if the share button on the PS4 controller was only available for an extra fee.
Sony and Microsoft's subscriber services - Playstation Plus and Xbox Live Gold, respectively - will look awfully similar when the new consoles launch in the fall. Sony will start to charge for online multiplayer, which it didn't do with the PS3, and Microsoft is now offering free games with a Gold subscription, just like with Playstation Plus. As with most stories in the next-gen, this is about two seemingly different ideas meeting in the middle.
Sony still offers more services for free than Microsoft, the new DVR feature notwithstanding, while Microsoft reserves most online functionality for Gold members. It does offer more partnerships and services once you fork over the fee, but legions of Netflix NFLX +0.53%-watchers find themselves paying $60 a year for a service they’re already buying from another company.
In the great internet shouting match that typifies the next-gen console war at this moment, this sort of news offers more ammunition for the pro-Sony crowd, albeit not much more. Such news pieces illustrate the massive perception problem that Xbox One has with gamers right now - it can seem like every story in the gaming blogosphere plays into the same general narrative: Sony is out to give you what you want, Microsoft is out to screw you |

They should have named it "Xbox 540".
360 + 180 = 540.
Also, $500 plus 8% sales tax = $540. |

Lets all go get a PS4 so we can pay to play multiplayer games!! Yeah!
Listen to Mr Tech Buff again, his general concensus again that speaks for the population of the world.

Wow that is just pure intellect..
Thanks for that incredible insight Mr Tech Buff even though it's means nothing at all. Just some more bullshit but what else can we expect from you. Why not change your name to Bullshit. |

The problem is everyone is getting sick of Microsoft's bullshit. You have to use Windows, but you don't have to use Xbox. |

| And you don't have to use Nokia, neither - with Wincrap on it, it became a spy platform for the US government. I am beginning to think this was the whole idea behind killing Nokia... |
