Likely the GTX 780 is in my next build as a) its much cheaper than the Titan and b) its only 10-15% slower than the Titan... seems like a good intern-purchase until the next big thing from Nvidia.

Which will probably be next month....throw away society indeed. It's barely got wet printed box packaging and its superseded. I play my PC approx at the weekend, that's not rocket science that I have 4weeks annual leave from work. So roughly I play on my PC 48 times in a year. It's hardly value turning over a near £400 graphics card which costs me just over £8 per weekend. That's just the graphics card. The gtx 780 is £600. Silly money when you actually work out the amount of games you *actualy* buy that utilise the card before its superseded and more so, finish.

Of course, but it depreciates faster than titanic's deck chairs! My card has dropped £125 in 6months. That's pathetic. Which proves that graphic cards are pretty much over inflated worthless pieces of junk, artificially driven by punters who believe the hype. If more people actually seen sense, instead of being blinded by bull.... Manufacturers would then be forced to sell 'realistically' at today's prices. Instead card manufacturers are in a 100% no loss situation - forever making 100+ percent profit and markup. Obviously if they can drop prices drastically in as little as 6 months.
I never even bought my card at full retail and it had dropped within the first 3 months by £20 or so.
More money than sense Confused

Oh absolutely but I fear it will go even faster. Hard to incentivize my current purchases where it seems at every turn I am constantly getting reports and teasers of "whats next"? In IT, I am always being bombarded with "whats coming or planned" so I am already psychologically being told to just.. wait. When do I jump the wagon or make the plunge anymore when society is consistently inundated with plans and forecasts of whats coming next? FCUK!

EDIT: Changed my mind. Going to get this and sell my old card to my friend who will then sell his old friend to a mutual friend between us. In the end, we all get quite a boost for a much lower cost.

Going to skip this one. I have a GTX680 which is plenty powerful for all current and even upcoming games. Most notably how it can run Borderlands 2 with all visual settings AND Phys-X maxed out without the need for a second card while still maintaining a perfectly smooth framerate and even Crysis 3 maxed out with 3D Vision enabled while still going strong. There has yet to be a title that overloads this card as of yet and I'm sure by the time there is, yet another performance nVidia GPU will be released.

For those upgrading from a much older card though, it'll be absolutely fantastic for you.

I got a 560GTX and its more than enough for anything I throw at it. I don't believe in just throwing my money away so I can have the latest. PC gaming just doesn't need it. To me, even a 680 is overkill.

Mine only lasted a couple years as with all my nvidia cards. It's some sort of Nvidia curse. The only one that's breaking the cycle is the 460 atm. 7950's were on sale this year though so we'll see how that goes. MetroLL ran like ass unless you shut off physx I think forget which setting.
