So far, Double Fine have received pledges amounting to almost $850k in less than a day! WOW!

Hahaha, hey I got a game sitting on my disk too here! Serious! It's playable MP shooter running on Unreal Tech. It was a finalist in their contest! It's got vehicles and lots of guns. No money to finish it though, but if you send me your money I'll get a team together and finish it. |

Well, package a lot of info about your game, graphics, guns, whatever to "sell" it to the public and then put it up on kickstarter.
If it looks cool enough and you have a good enough plan (the good enough plan part is important) who knows? You will probably not get $400 grand in 8 hours, but if you set your sights lower and do it on a shoestring budget maybe people will want it. |

Oh common Package it, write a story? Good enough plan?
ok, here's what they did:
"About the Project
Over a six-to-eight month period, a small team under Tim Schafer's supervision will develop Double Fine's next game, a classic point-and-click adventure. Where it goes from there will unfold in real time for all the backers to see.
Q: What will the game be?
A: Other than that it will be an old school adventure, we're not sure. That's the beauty of it! Everything will unfold in front of the cameras with help from you!"
That's the plan.
now for the sneak-peak of the graphics:
and BAM! 1.3 million dollars! For point and click shitty game that no one will play (50.000 people is generally "no one" if you consider a user base of ~150.000 million players) |
