I am looking forward to Thief 4 very much. One of the greatest games of all times. Even if it uses the Thief 3 engine with new maps and missions, I am happy. Let's hope this one will moddable so user-created mission could keep us busy much longer.
I am very much concerned about the online aspect however - if it means multiplayer gaming. Afaik, there's only one Garrett sneaking up on a prize. The beauty of this game is to use your brain and take out only crucial targets. Making it a multiplayer game would only vandalize that concept and become a dumb shooter. I can already see an army or Garretts enveloping an entire city in a storm of arrows killing off the entire population.
Impersonating the guards is another similarly ridiculous concept because they'll just stand around the prize and wait (instead of doing their routine patrols). |

I hope "online tools" isn't a fancy cover-up code phrase for some kind of DRM/copy protection/activation crap.
I loved the first two Thief games. The sound effects were superb, a lot more cerebral thinking and strategy compared to some of the spewfest games out today. |
