And when a better one comes round no doubt you will pirate that too then they will fade away because noone paid for it see PC gaming for reference. |
lol. Are you serious?!
1. Linux is getting better all the time and it's (mostly) free OS.
2. PC gaming didn't die, not even close.
edit: hell, I'd really really like to see m$ fade away :d Like that's ever gonna happen XD |
Linux just doesn't cut it for serious PC work and its far less accessible for the masses.
I didn't say PC gaming was dead, it is full of shitty console ports though because its not worth a company's time or money to make PC exclusive titles if they are developing console versions as well. |

well you said pirating windows will ruin microsoft or something like that. M$ isn't ruined and windows 8 looks like a console port already so you are obviously blaming the wrong party in all this mess. Games are consolised because it makes more profit, not because they get pirated. xbox games are pirated as much as PC ones are.
edit: if google is available, so is linux. |

Microsoft is dissing their own software to sell more software.
Microsoft has money spewing out of every orifice. Why Windows costs so much is a mystery to me. |

because it sells, simple. That's one of the reasons I won't pay for it. They make you dependent on it, then they hustle you. Sound familiar? |

MS has less money than Apple, and at least they use some of it for the good of the World and really that software is out of date. True that it costs too much especially since they seem to release them all too often now. |

| actually it has a "classic" mode with real interface. It is beyond me why they are even pushing this console/mobile like crap. |

Aero was enabled by default on WinDOS 7 - one had to go through a few dialogs to disable it.
If they don't make it any more difficult than that, it is ok; I can do it, maybe my brother can do it, but my mom would surely be stuck with lameUI (don't know what to call this utter crap in WinDOS 8 ).
Problem with WinDOS is, there is no reason to upgrade to WinDOS 8... (Even less than from going to XP to 7.) |

well, there is an win eight preview available for download, you can download it and try it out. As far as I understood, classic and "console" interfaces are separate one from another, meaning, you either login to one or the other but I am not sure.
here is the link: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/technology/2011/09/windows-8-preview-yes-you-can-download-it.html
edit: you can also do it like this (install it in VM under win 7): http://www.pcworld.com/article/240117/how_to_download_and_install_windows_8_into_a_virtual_machine.html |

Aww I missed the fun. Oh well.
Linux is great but there are too many distributions with performance and stability being a problem. Linux unfortunately has not gone anywhere still. It's still just that other OS that some people use/tinker with. Part of why I run it mostly on my netbook. Better than that crap Win7 starter joke.
Windows XP is garbage compared to Windows 7 though. I couldn't see going back to Windows XP unless I had no choice. You have to be seriously out of touch to still be operating with Windows XP. OR CHEAP. |

Thanks, but I have no interest whatsoever in WinDOS 8.
Definitely a skip for me. |

Yeah, being CHEAP is the part where companies save a LOT of money.
Totally worth it for reasons said already. |
