As more as i see of the gameplay of this game i am pretty shure that it will suck big time....
Back in the years Duke 3d was really impressive and awesome because there were no other games like this one! It revolutionized the genre, it was one of the first out there and many followed...
But today. lol. The FPS genre is overused and we havent seen anything new and impressive.
So those videos are demonstrating this exactly!!!
Some bad language, chicks, stupid stuff like - draw dicks on a board ?...
Its gonna be just another uber-dumbed down-user frendly commercial FPShooter.
Not that you can expect something else from Duke'em franchise! ... but c'mon! I was hoping for something worth the "forever" wait here.... |

So, I, who I have purchased Borderlands as well as its three DLC and getting ready to get the 4th as well, aren't I qualified to get a Demo of Duke?
FUCK U 2K.
I guess Reloaded/Razor will crack it anyway, so no biggy.
As for the game itself, I am hyped and gonna get it no matter what, for old times sake. If it is not console tard port that is and I am talking about the technical department, textures, polygons and shit. |

Yep, probably get this on console myself. Times have changed, PC is not what it used to be. With MP everyone will be on console, not going to waste my time with the small PC crowd and the ignorant pricks who think exploits and cheats are alright in PC gaming.
Naturally some will be disappointed with the new Duke but you are also comparing it to a time when games with this sort of humor/creativity didn't really exist. Not very fair. Sure we had the Doom series, Quake, Dark Forces but while they were all good they didn't hold a candle to the love people had for Duke3D. It was funny as shit and great fun to play. The voice and words of Duke made people shit their pants with laughter. Duke3D set a precedent in fps gaming and not even George is/was able to make a game that could ever possibly touch the imagination or originality behind the first one. I mean, look how many times that bastard tried to get something out. LOL!
I will get this game because I think it will be fun and I'm not expecting something to supplant the first one. Just ain't gonna happen. As for the demo, it's still pretty early to be jumping off your rocker. Chill! I'm sure they've already heard a ton from people who already bought borderlands that are saying wtf...I was one of those people too. Hell I was registered on the 3D Realms site since day 1. That's gotta be worth something. LOL |

What I liked about Duke 3d, was its urbanized environments. As the levels progressed it just got a lame, but it was still a good fps shooter, the weapons, and the one liners from the character immersed you in it.
so yeh it was the level design, interactive game objects including hookers, etc.. it was different when you looked at other games of that time.
but I personally don't see it holding up well to other AAA titles that have been on PC since, though if you compare it to say Epics' single player games (like Gears of war, Unreal lol) I'm sure it will probably shit all over it. But looking at games like these random titles: Mass effect, Dues ex, Bioshock, GTA iv, HL2, when you look at what those games have done and compare them to what I feel this Duke is going to be offering, I just don't see it holding up very well.
Anyway I'm sure it will sell well, not sure if I'll be buying into it though, multiplayer and future community map releases through editing toolkits etc might attract me, will see. |
