So true.

Indeed.

I found Risen great.

People here really have a hard time acknowledging others tastes especially when they are opposing to their own.
Personally, I find little difference between all three of them, really, as far as presentation and gameplay goes.

I can accept he said it was boring but broken, no. Never had a problem the 3 times I played it through.

Risen was nothing like Two Worlds or Oblivion. Did you even play Risen? About the only similarity was that they were all RPG's. Rolling Eyes

Not just RPG, but open-world RPGs (or, whatchamacallit) where you can be whatever you want to be.
I think Risen was much better than the other two. The storyline you chose to develop was unfolding at good pace, the side-quests did not take ages of boring running on the landscape to finish, etc. The combat was a bit weak, but the rest made up for it.
Sure, Oblivion and Two Worlds both had strong points, no doubt. But as always, it all boils down to what *you* like in these games.
All the things I said above are my opinion. You can share it, contest it, but you cannot change it - and that goes both ways.

TW and Risen, both good games with different approaches to things, both fun for different reasons. I agree that TW is somewhat boring, but only in the beginning. This is a major mistake made by the devs since it turned off many people from playing the game. Risen on the other hand has a pretty good start with major choices presented very early in the game. On the other hand, I am yet to play RPG with gives you a GodLike feeling towards late middle game, not just at the end of the game (best things you get in Risen are 30-60 minutes before the end of the game, and you are still not nearly overpowered, which is both good and bad, depending on what you prefer, I prefer loads of fun and a grin on my face towards end-game Very Happy )

I was one of those... Maybe I ought to borrow it once more and give it some more time...

story in TW starts when you get to big town and start taking jobs for the guilds, then you start to get in contact with some "stuff" that drives the story onwards with more pace. There are also many styles of play from that point onwards. Also note that horses differ not just in color but in performance such as speed etc.
