Oh boy, what enthuisiasm....not.
Now that he's waded through the 'never to be touched again' collectors junk -except the game of course.
He can now read this
Blizzard Lists Known Starcraft II Issues

Quote:
Blizzard is also earning players that Starcraft II might make their system overheat at some points, when the game needs to draw complex scenes quickly. The company is saying that “A temporary workaround is to go to your Documents\StarCraft II Beta\variables.txt file and add these lines: frameratecapglue=30; frameratecap=60. You may replace these numbers if you want to.”

From our own experience here at Softpedia it seems to be worth it to have the system as clean as possible before running Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty. The game does not play nice with other memory hungry applications although it allows the player to Alt-TAB out of it an close down any interfering program. Some antivirus and firewall programs also seem to slow the game down at certain points. Some popular desktop Twitter clients can also interfere and lead to stuttering, mainly during the cinematics.

Campaign is loads better than it used to be. I sat and played through the entire campaign yesterday all day long.

I swear this game every five seconds your doing a cutscene. It's like they tried to do a DAO or Mass Effect 2 thing with the ship or something. I dig it and all but how is it so complex? The game looks exactly the same as the first game.

Anyways uninstalled the game and back to sins and tropico 3.

EDIT: It wasn't a total pile of crap as the latest c&c game. That has to be my worst game experience with an rts ever. I played one or two tutorials in the campaign and it constantly crashed. I won't even go into how they completely gutted the entire game and it this crappy squad based crap. I uninstalled the game within twenty minutes of putting it there. Sad day for everyone.

guys, SC is all about MP matches. SC2 was a necessity, 800x600 simply doesn't cut it anymore...

I ain't buying that junk, especially as its got that weird looking 'Bobby Kotick' crAptivision behind it, the guy is fucking globalist scumbag! Not to mention Blizztards fucking insidious totalitarian censorship/realid bullshit they're so desperately wanting to get away with implementing.

Anyway I didn't play the SC2 beta, but I do still play SC online from time to time (at least when DotA gets boring) ,I probably will give SC2 a chance sometime, though I am disappointed by the total lack of campaigns, from what I hear it sounds rubbish(I'd probably zip through it) heck even put off by that fact some people have said the SC2 music isn't as good as SC1(and I friggin dig some of the unique bg music used in SC1, so that is telling me all the money blizz has and they can't even fucking do that right, which is in line with the rest of the gaming industry just slap on generic orchestral crap or do what EA does and sign up recor labels, its easier to improve the gfx but making unique enjoyable original music tracks nah) Anyway its the skirmish/multiplayer where this game longevity is, yet from the sounds of all the reported problems and backwards blizznet retardation this game is shit.

will I buy it? hell no!

SC2 3-1star reviews are enough to go by on what the analytical think of this junk. I tend not ever go by 5star reviews as they most often tend to be fanboys and noobs so buried in ignorance and easily please with crap they fail to notice the flaws. Its like the idiots who give a printers 5stars even though if it runs out of color ink it will refuse to print a page of black text only, and you wonder why manufacturers/publishers get away with pulling of the same shit every year and never being held accountable. It sums up the market of idiots perfectly just as those who buy collectors editions which tbh are better left on the shelf to send a very important message back that the top greedy cretins, that the lack of innovation and totalitarian control over things has got to stop!

eer try 640x480 Razz (though this hack http://www.starcraftresolutionhack.de.vu certainly shows what a SC2 could have been if blizzard had just brought SC2 in less than 5years from SC 1998 release and stuck with the color palette unit/environment style, (which honestly I do prefer in somethings where this updated 32bit 3d stylized update has cartoonized more with more curvyness). Obviously rescaling GUI and improving the gfx quality to work better with increased resolutions to more decent 1024x764+ playability, similar to diablo>diablo2. If they had done that right SC2 could have been everything SC+exp was and better probably even with all 3 race campaigns, it would be even more popular today. And the 3d version we have now would have been SC3 probably done a lot better.

I really don't see this SC2 ever becoming as big as Blizztard corp would like it, but yeah sure they've another 2parts of the game to string out and hype up I'm sure that will help.
