2K Games has definitively stated that it has no plans to add such support in a future patch:

I talked to the dev team about controller support for BioShock 2, and I want to let you know that we won\'t be adding this into the game in a patch. The decision not to support the controller was not made lightly, and to add

I haven't taken much of interest in Bioshock2 to know what sort of massive PC UI changes they've made to it over the console gamepad version, but seriously I give up understanding it, the PC gaming industry is screwed up enough with this console gamepad porting kinda rubbish and the pathetic excuses.

FPS games on PC now need to have gamepad support(not bashing those really casual gamers who would want to play an fps on a pc with a gamepad no matter how crazy I find it, I don't see why it can't be there like it always has been) but crikey they can't even get the PC mouse settings right and provide UI options to change things adequately anymore, and now some gamers are disappointed by the lack of gamepad support. _Nutz really.

So, it cannot be used by mouse, and no gamepad ?
Does it use some kind of super intelligent mind reading ?

Nah I don't think the Bioshock 2 mouse settings are as much of a problem to change in the *cough* config files from what I've heard.

Unlike Mass effect 2(also Unreal engine) that was just some complete backward retardation going on.. preventing users from customizing and configuring their own freaking game config settings in user input areas that shouldn't even have been issues in the first place..

..requiring Perl to be installed and using someone's perl script fix to run the config files through after editing them, otherwise game would crash.

Seems like testing in game mouse UI settings is just too much work, I dunno how all those older fps games managed to provide UI control over input settings, developers these days make it seem difficult like rocket science.

Who the hell would want to play this game on PC with a gamepad anyhow. How fucking retarded. If you wanted to use a gamepad then you should have bought it on console. Duh!
