I love this episodic content, it's so great to play games in chunks to completion over a year or two!
Oh, wait.. |

honestly I would prefer a Half Life 3 with a fully updated engine and sdk tools...it would restore my faith in valve as the last decent pc fps developer... a FULL hl game with hl3 multiplayer deathmatch, cs:s3 etc
ok maybe this all a few years off, they could certainly string out another hl2: episode3 on the same tweaked source engine, like the L4D2.
hard to imagine 60 ppl worked on l4d2, its just like a polished mod, hardly much, even the amount of map content etc zombie bot AI Director 2.0, with weather effects, ie the same old map with higher water level +rain.. yay way to go source engine lol
right now it does seem like they are just stringing everything out in doses and raking in money from it and that steaming shit platform. Had totally forgotten about portal.. maybe something for that comes out this year, other than that it seems this year will only get l4d2 dlc and tf2 updates .. oh unless l4d3 is out by the end of the year |

This episoidal content is like some American soap, they may as well release 100mb of code each day and you play until the 'next exciting episode tomorrow'. Seriously, i honestly don't know what folk get out of it, for like 2-4hrs Spinning a 'game' out over several months is utter bull. Imagine buying 100 pages of a 800 page book every two months? same similar garbage...
I rented the orange box just to play the drivle that was the episodic content. I can't even remember what it was about as i type this!! |
