I totally agree, and DX10/11 wouldn't be so bad if the OS it was infested within wasn't so utterly shit like that vista junk now labeled 7.
So more reason for OpenGL, I still use XP64 for productions apps as many still use OpenGL, no real benefit in Dx11 for those, and hardly any in games either. And absolutely fuck all benefits in using winshite 7 as an OS, only more hassles/annoyances and slowness to it both, in actual hardware performance utilization and gui/ux workflow retardation. Like that epic fuck up of a explorer shell among many other stupid changes.
I also think Sony's PS4 could turn the tide on MS, a change in direction away from the harder to develop for cell architecture, to using similar multicore pc hardware and opengl development, could see Microsuck and its closed Windows/Xblock live gaming platform getting screwed. Apple and Linux both get OpenGL support.. so its another market for game developers, MS are bringing themselves down with there own shoddy work they've been doing for the noob consumer, quite frankly I think its time to see them getting stung for it. |

The only thing that is 100% dead, are your brain cells, that failed to notice that OpenGL is not dead.
And it could just as easily come back into game popularity with a shift technologies and people's support for other platforms or a dislike in the current ones. MS are destroying themselves and driving away more and more people with there constant noobshit. It would only take a combined effort from other companies and developers to push forward in another direction. |

OpenGL isn't dead. And won't be, that right.
But giving MS that much shit isn't right. Thats how it goes everywhere.
Just watch politics. Mankind always tries to get his own advantage, with
little secrets and own 'technologie'. |

Funniest arguement from article:
| Quote: | | Half of PC gamers still use XP, so using DirectX 10 or 11 is not really a viable option. |
Looking at his steam survey link, half of PC gamers are also using an old video card that wouldn't even support DirectX 10 or 11 anyways.
This is just the type of retarded thinking you can expect from a Mac game developer that's currently making a furry game. I'm just surprised that the website looks as ugly as it does. |

| The only thing that impresses me about this is that there is API fanboying. Really. |
