Instead of "Buy 2, get 1 free" of the Blu Ray crap, they better lower their prices by 33%, then perhaps someone would be interested in going Blu-Ray.

Who the heck is XXX?! Sounds like porno! I like porno, mmm!!

Who are you his boyfriend in to save him? Give it a rest dude since most Bluray you can get for $20 bucks unless you live in the north pole! You can also get a Bluray player for your PC for $150! Wohoa how about that huh?!

Plus these days you can rent em, bring em home and rip em! Oh the humanity! If ya don't like that, buy em online for %50 off!

Like I said, get a better job if passing newspapers house to house isn't cutting it. I'm not rich and I got a family to feed and bills to pay and I got a PS3 and I watch blurays.

Interesting that I knew he or someone would fly in after my remark, which is only OBVIOUS retort. Usually kids who complain about price. Kids who can't save their money and blow it on drugs or booze.

Just to save you some time. I know it takes a lot of mental energy for some of us to look hard into it, we like to bitch and complain but;

http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/top.php?show=bargains&sortby=popularity&country=usa

Check the average price. No more than DVD. Sure the player costs more but you aren't talking crap quality like DVD, you are talking fantastic quality, such fantastic quality you need a quality screen to watch them. So if you can't afford a PS3 get a player for your PC and buy your movies online. I have yet to pay more than $22 for a movie which is more than acceptable considering most even come with a regular DVD included.

Here I even helped you even more, these are Blu ray players for your PC...Some for less than $100. Incredible huh? Mine is the second one, and I have a PS3.

Oh so I get it, now that I educated you on prices you have no further retorts eh? I guess I don't even get a 'gee sorry I guess I was wrong'. Well figures. Lots on this site I read bitch and complain but 3/4 of time they don't know what they are talking about.

Firstly, you were pretty fast running in to defend him, like not even 5mins after I posted I got alerted of a post back.

To be honest, I rent blurays and they are approx 5-7 bucks here. If I am tricky, I make a copy for myself. I do know lots of Euro's who buy overseas so what's stopping you? I buy most movies online because locally stores do tend to rip the consumer off. That's not the fault of Sony or anyone else, just the store. Like you said, a lot of movies are really not for me to watch a second time.

Point here was that Bluray is not that expensive and most certainly not a rip. If you consider the price tag of a PS3 @ $399 Canadian. You now can play DVD's, CDR/RW, Bluray, Stream any movie or sound/music you want from your PC with little to no effort, cruise the net, shop online and play great looking games. PS3 is a steal, not a ripoff if you really consider what you are getting. Not to mention a PS3 can be updated so that Bluray player is better than anything on a store shelf. Same goes for a PC bluray reader. Now how about that Xbox with a DVD format nobody gives a shit about? Now that is a rip off and you have to PAY to play online!

There you have it ! The real truth !

If you look at todays releases, they're all cheaply produced computer crap.
Here in europe, DVD prices average 4 to 5€, Blu-Ray averages €20.

Now, If Blu-Ray would still average €10 instead of €20, then at least I will *think* about going Blu-Ray. Yet, it's only the pixel-seekers who really see any real difference with regular DVD, that's perhaps the 2nd reason why Blu-Ray will die without ever having lived up (...and YES, I do own a
fantastic big Full-HD plasma TV!).
Besides, If you own a PS3 you won't even notice any difference between a regular DVD and a BR.

@stangestsensation, I'm not a thief like you, I still prefer to buy the stuff I'd like to have, perhaps it's you to get A job !

LOL! See now where is the PS3/Bluray sales guy Stumpus? Is he on vacation now? roflmao!

Well if you are a moron and buy them in the local store and don't use the internet that's your choice. I prefer to save money so I buy them online and have them at my door 12-24hours later at half or better price. You can call me a thief, whatever I don't care. Sticks and stones. I love when people say "I'm not a thief like you" when that can't even be proven. Idiotic statement.

No difference between a bluray and a DVD? Well I wont bang heads with you because it is clearly obvious you have no clue. You have to be totally blind not to see a difference.

In the end, you quote this other guy in support but in essence he's supporting the fact I am downloading movies. Then you call me a thief? Do you have a reefer hanging out your mouth? Honestly some of you need serious help. First talking without knowing jack all and then you can't even comprehend the english in front of you. Rolling Eyes

Exactly. I don't plan to upgrade to Blue-Ray too. Old DVDs are just fine.

Yes Blu-ray will die, that's why every other vendor on the planet has endorsed it and are starting to make their own blu-ray players. Yes, because blu-ray will die anytime. That's why there are constant rumors the next Xbox will have Blu-ray.

Wow, aren't you like the guy who runs this site? You don't even know how to spell it? That's Blu-ray, not Blue-Ray. Yikes.

Go educate yourself on just how Blu-ray is better rather than sounding like complete n00bs.

http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-6463_7-6462511-2.html

Comparison shots to show you are completely blind and oblivious to advantages of Blu-ray.

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=811102

Here's Bladerunner, imho, one of the worst Blu-rays but still clearly shows Blu-ray superiority over DVD.

http://www.zonadvd.com/modules.php?name=Sections&op=viewarticle&artid=804

I'm going to end this conversation because I'm tired of knocking heads with people that just aren't in the 'know'.

I see now, there is an existing member here XXXX that hasnt posted in a long time and from Canada. roflmao. All this time I thought you were saying I was a porn star. LOL! I am from Canada too actually. Canada is a big country but no I am not xxxx, I am just me. I didn't read his posts but I am a little intrigued now. I sense people don't like being corrected on this site. It's ok to trash things, companies, operating systems, games, use foul language but when someone who knows what they are talking about comes along something ain't right??? Confused That's very funny. Laughing

Honestly, you guys should rent a Blu-ray player. Maybe after you actually have one and enjoy a few movies you might actually understand the differences. I even provided you some decent links so you could see the difference from at least a screen comparison. I think I would puke to watch dvd again!

update: Where is this site in? it seems everyone here has bad english. Is this a Euro page or something?!

Back at ya! I thought it was Euro, explains the language barrier and stubbornness on this site and head knocking and serious lack of tech knowledge. It's strange to me that you have a site like this but have a ridiculous bunch of people who argue about something they clearly know very little about. In Canada we are more civil towards one another and tech is huge. We don't carry guns like our southern neighbours.
