A Blu-ray player, a good one, is approx $300. The one in the PS3 is the best you can get. To boot, you get a full media server that supports literally all formats of video and audio and you can play top notch games, a great internet browsers which is way better than the junk on the Wii. The price seemed more than fair to me. I love my PS3, it's literally replaced my PC for gaming. I've gamed on PC for a LONG time but PC just doesn't stand a chance against console anymore. PC's are a complete ripoff for gaming. (Here' let me take it up the ass so I can buy that video card and I'll be back in 6 more months to further take it up the ass for another video card). I have a Wii as well, it was fun and still gets played but it's not competition for PS3, not even close. As for the price of Xbox 360, well Xbox 360 in comparison is a hunk of junk that based on many threads breaks down all the time, doesn't have Blu-ray and you have to buy all the addons like wifi adapters. There's are significant differences for the justification of cost in my opinion. PS3 is a bargain for the price.

ps3 is good console put its overprices and it does brake too just like xbox 360 only diffrence that on ps3 blu-ray stop reading any media

and what comes to pc i got q9300 4 gb ram and 9800 gtx and have that now second year and still all games works great and suprise that every multiplatform game is better on PC and same is many other games wich never come to console like Total war

21 million!!! So there are some 21 million PS3's out there and someone is moaning that Sony should cut their price? If I were Sony I'd tell whoever wrote that article to take a hike. If you got 21+ million people out there and you are worried about sales of your game, then your game must suck.

PS3 is not a welfare console like Wii. Ps3 is also better than Xbox 360 in almost every aspect. $399 for PS3 with 80gb is more than fair considering everything inside the box. Unlike Xbox, I don't have to pay to play. Another asset to owning a PS3.

My apologies but this is one super stupid and weak article for a basis for Sony to cut prices of PS3.
