Install them on you game system at your own risk. Do not use them drivers for a computer you need for anything else, eg work.

I did try them for Doom 3, (the preview), and all I can say is ATI made a huge improvment on their customized drivers. I dont know what is driving this business, but drivers developed for a game just makes 10-15 % difference in framerate, and maybe we will have nvidia and radeon games in the future, like x-box and ps2 games.
Anyway, all I wanted to say that in this case the improvment in framerates (in crunch times like meeting enemies or opening doors) and in lessening the loading times during the gameplay. If you got a ATI card like me, try them out.

10-15% increase? so me the benchmarks.

ATI improves performance by... let me guess... cheating on IQ and.... OH YES, COMPROMISING STABILITY. Mad

Yep, I'm using the 9700 pro and recieved an extremely small increase in speed, so I'm guessing the kind of updates done to these drivers must be mainly for higher end cards perhaps. either that or you need to have a very specific hardware configuration to benefit from whatever optimizations have been put into this release.

I can't say that it increases performance by 5-10%, but it certainly makes it far more stable.

For example, everytime i open doors, it freezes for a second or two, but with these drivers, it is cut down by like 75%, which is very good.

Both ATI and Nvidia have cheated in the past AND the IQ is just the same.

To be honest, playing Doom III on medium @ 1024x768 is no different in IQ then High Quality or Ultra High, it is just more slower.

If there are any differences in quality, i don't notice any.
