Hmmm, so either the truth is coming out regarding DX 10.1 being a big deal (obsoleting 10.0) OR AMD is desperate to sell the new cards they have coming out which fully support 10.1.
I'd really like to think it's the former but my motives for such stem from a hope that everybody who bought into the virgin entry of DX 10 would be screwed for buying it before any games came out.
I wonder which it will be...
It took me several generations of video graphics technology to come to this point, but I'm pretty sure the bottom line is the following:
"Buy for now, not for later... And if you don't like it, buy a console."
Enjoy crysis at 20FPS on your killer hardware guys. |

Long before PS 3.0,HDR was mainstream i looked into what games would support it, namely Oblivion. So with that in mind i bought my 7800GT, 2 years ago. It's served me faithfully, as of course games now are PS3.0 and it's a requirement.
To this day people still have cards that don't support PS 3.0 (and moan) -PS3.0 cards can be bought for pennies!
The moral is buy what games you plan to play and what shader they support etc.
DX 10 is an operating system, namely Vista, and not just a graphics card.
That is where the problem lies.
It's foundation is still very unstable. |
