oh do you know a card that transfers data at faster than 4x AGP? Please tell, at least other than PCIx. Don't tell me you actually believe a 8x AGP card is faster than 4x cuz i think you need to do some research. But yes, your card is outdated for current games.

the thing is , you dont want to get to the situation where the video card actually NEEDS to transfer data (in the middle of a game) through the AGP interface (4x, 8x, or otherwise). the 8x AGP speed is something like 2133 mB/sec. Compare that with the Radeon 9800 Pro memory pipe that is approx. 21000 mB/sec (i donn't remember exacly).

@madda.. yes it will run the same..... I got the exact same setup...2.0, 768, Ti 4600. Razz Laughing Laughing

But for those who want to see the game running in ALL ITS GLORY, be prepared to spec up to around a 2.4 GHz machine, with 512MB RAM, Windows 2000/XP and a DirectX 9 capable graphics card.

I seriously don't agree with these requirements. They must mean 2.4 GHZ AMD 64bit and TOP OF THE LINE DRECTX with the fastest 512mb.

why would you need 64bit to run a 32bit application on a 32bit OS?

i didnt see alot in the game to require such drastic hardware, i'd be highly suprised if you can't run HL2 with a GF 4600. from my understanding was that it would work well from 4200 + and it even supports lower DirectX.. so..

Bill got me..... Laughing Laughing I have a 3ghz, 1 GB Ram, 9800 AIW. Laughing

As far as 32 and 64 bit that's is exactly what I thought EL_Coyote. But when I saw my friends exact same setup but with an AMD 64 3000, smoke my pc in pretty much all the game benchmarks...... I just don't know MAAAAN.. Shocked

@xxxx , I just don't know. I look at all the games that I have and when ever I tried to play on my old 2.0 pc I am always around 35 to 40 fps that is using FRAPS and without any AA. Games like NFS, Call of duty, UT 2004, HALO, MOH, True Crimes and Vice City. But I hope you are right.

@samadama, it's what i heard from some people. i'll run it either way with my rig even if i have to cut it down. sorry too, that was my other pc i'm talking about.. hehe. technically i should have no problems with my rig. it would take every single game coming out to warrant having to get a new vid card. i'm not upgrading for HL2...no way. doom3, couldn't care less neither do i know anyone else personally who gives a hoot so i'm not worried on that front. in meantime, hate to say it, but i am having a ball with Condition Zero.. can't believe i bought it, but it's certainly entertaining and wayyyy better than CS was..
