If I am wrong about PC being dead. Prove me wrong. None of you have proved me wrong on anything other than state your opinion over mine with assumptions. I sit here and await your proof since everywhere I spent a mere 30 mins looking shows PC game sales dwindling to the point it doesn't even warrant stats groups commenting on it anymore. Even NPD has admitted the stats are a little errored because it doesn't account for online purchases but have for the past 5 years dissed PC and it's sales and embarassingly released the stats. NPD said they would report online purchases yet +1 year later, no progress. If you think there were record Pc games sales you'd have heard about it. There are none. The top game for the past several years is and was Sims... That alone says what the state of PC is...And if they aren't playing Sims they are playing Warcraft or Halflife.

PC is dead, it's just the brain dead PC gamer in denial that's the problem. I don't feel pity or anything for PC's obvious demise. It was something I've seen come. I was in a little denial when Xbox 360 was released but after playing Xbox 360 and MANY games, I can easily see the obvious attraction of such a console. Trouble free and gaming in seconds as opposed to minutes and hours as you scratch your head over a bug that went past testing on a PC game...

Previous times I have said prove me wrong and nobody has. So I rest my case. PC gaming is dead, stats prove it, store shelves prove it and stores that made money of PC upgrades are folding and people are going online to save every penny they can when they buy/upgrade. Most don't even bother making their own, they just get some generic Dell.

Despite my sig and Stumpass stupid moment of complete idiocy saying Vista will kill PC gaming. It's not MS at all it's money hungry companies like nVidia and ATI that couldn't introduce a better pricing policy and sit and continue to gouge people for cards which merely give more speed and resolutions. NOT features. I like many are more than happy to play at 1024 and 1280 and not 22x.. Games don't warrant the need for a 8800 or anything else. Typically it's the egotistical fool who runs to get them so he can gloat to his buddies he was a dumbass and paid an unrealistic amount of money for their card... Or at least that's what I find when I read their posts.

I figure by 2008 or 2009... There will be a fraction of games available for PC because they will be making for console. The beginning of this has already begun just some are oblivious.

First, let me point out that the US is by no mesure a demographic that somehow the rest of the world is margined by. Secondly, when you compare market analysis and sales you compare it to sold units, region, ages and trends for exampel.
The ratio of the market is US:3, EU:3 and JP:2. Thus we have to seperate regions defining their own sales and market trends. And since the contrast is pretty solid it's hard to analyse it on a global scale and insanly hard to provide a forcast for the next decade.

If you want to talk about numbers I belive we should speak on a global scale instead to give a better view on this "decline of the PC".

I don't know what you really missed, but the trends and thoughts I relected upon in my previous comment is mirrored by many, not the least people who has a large part in the industry we are talking about.

Last: I dunno about you, but a integrated and multipurpose processing die are more then suited for some fine motherboard innovation on the desktop front - it would be pity if I need to explain why.
My purpose here, you did discribe it as "making friends"is far from any mainstay truth. I like the way news comes here and it would just be some fine luck if I did get to know some interesting people on the way as I comment my views. In contrast I seem to lack energy to find your deep down purpose here other then just being... you... hmm...

Hahahah well nice find on those stats, just too bad nobody has seen those numbers nor do I personally believe them. Almost looks like a really bad joke. And why can't I find those same results in any of what I have, including the most quoted stats groups?

To deny consoles are not the most viable thing to play games on today and into the future tells me you don't know much about consoles period and are some blind PC gamer. You are also oblivious to the many console commercials and stuff on TV. When did you see a TV commercial for a PC game? Pfff, let alone a PC other than Dell...Xbox and PS3 are and even their past itterations have always been plastered on TV.

Console are where the money is and thats where publishers are going. Despite your fake stats, that is what the stats internationally state. How many copies of Gears of War sell??? How long? After this post, I don't care to go on with this thread anymore cuz I have more important things to do in my life. I wont stop either to re-itterate my opinion and the obvious the next time I see a similar article.

You want to game on PC? go right the hell ahead, I don't care! Hahaha! If you are going to defend it at least provide something believable. I'm going with everyone else and moving to console and gaming online. I'm done living in PC Gaming Fantasy Land and I'm done making ATI and nVidia richer for little overall gain.

I'm personally anxious as hell to get a Xbox 360 and join the real world of gaming and get back with my older gaming buddies! Time for a change of game and Xbox 360 has more than plenty to keep me WELL entertained.
