Being that lots I know have started playing this on private servers, I picked it up. Doh! The game however is not 'that' bad. I have everything cranked at my usual 1024x resolution and it looks rather sweet(but not as nice as Quake Wars looks). I actually like this game better than BF2 just because the mechs make it that more interesting. But my previous comments of skinjob was not far off at all. This game is 90% skin job with 10% new. The mechs are kinda neat as I said, but trying to get one is next to impossible because naturally everyone wants to be in it.
I didn't find the game that buggy but what I really hate is these so called skilled players that take advantage of diving while you fight them. They lie down and spring up constantly over and over again in conflict. Yeah, I'm sure that is a tactic in war.... Another thing I hate is that I have 5.1 digital surround sound and THX capable yet STILL I can't hear squat around me. This has been a problem since BF1942... Yes, I am sure people running on concrete and sand and bushes, there would be no sounds . In BF2142 these guys wear big huge clunky boots which makes this even more stupid than ever. this is apparently a Creative exclusive game too, or Creative advertises it with their X-Fi... really I don't know why cuz X-Fi continues to show how completely useless and unneeded it really is. As to the advertising and stuff, HAVEN'T even noticed or cared. Has done zero to turn me off and it wasn't even a trailing thought while playing.
I will be playing this game mostly behind a passworded server as there is 'sigh' an aimbot + wallhack floating around that bypasses PB. What else is new? Apparently abundantly used as some keep telling me.
I have to assume Quake Wars is gonna have this cop-out protection scheme too. |

| Thanks, XXXX, for supporting EA on their quest to drain as much money as possible from us (the gamers). |

Hehe, I know what you mean. The reason I'm not playing it is because its not being played at LAN parties that I am attending. |
