Microsoft released optional update **KB5089573** for Windows 11 (24H2 & 25H2), focusing on real performance gains instead of new visuals.

It makes the Start menu, Search, File Explorer, and app launching noticeably faster with reduced lag and better responsiveness.

Other improvements include Shared Blue

Mine slowed (corporate office PC) down - exactly the opposite. Thanks Microsoft for nothing, I kind of expected this.

It’s supposed to throttle the CPU up for approx 3 seconds and then smooth after. I will try it this weekend. Then again I have 10 cores and 16 threads, so no doubt lesser systems will choke
