Not sure this is going to go anywhere.
I saw a failure-prone 14700K and a working 14700K CPU being tested in the exact same motherboard with the exact same memory, same BIOS and even same BIOS settings.
One kept causing hangs on load (Cinebench R23), the other was working fine.
They both had identical IDs (the IDs that are asking you to submit in this video). I submitted both anyway, that should make this clear.
So, I doubt it has to do with the ID.
However I'm sure, it has to do with the fabrication/testing/selection process.
Intel is selling CPUs that are broken to begin with - it's that simple.
They either don't test them or they are consciously inserting broken CPUs hoping users would not notice.
Neither practice is acceptable.
If it can't run at the rated speeds within the specified power envelope, it's broken.
Class-action lawsuit should ensure owners of these CPUs either are refunded in full for all the hardware they purchased for their entire new platform that is rendered obsolete by lack of a decent CPU, or, Intel should provide them with proper CPUs. Meaning, unlocked (K series chips) should overclock without issues.
