 Consolewar.com has posted an interview with Tim Williams, the creative director at Planet Moon Studios about Giants: Citizen Kabuto.
Console War: The graphics that Giants: Citizen Kabuto showcased were phenomenal. Recently, you announced that you were working on a Geforce 3 enhanced version. How long have you been working on it, and how have the graphics been beefed up?
Tim Williams: We've been working on it for the last month or so. It'll include: 1) Full support for Microsoft DirectX 8. 2) Utilization of new hardware features such as Vertex and PixelShaders. 3) New higher polygon models for the Mecc's and Reaper's also utilizing hardware lighting. 4) Subtle reflections of the sky on the the ocean surface. 5) Enhanced shadow rendering for softer anti-alias edges 6) Enhanced landscape blending for a smoother surrounding coast line. 7) Introduction of weather effects, such as rain, snow and rainbows 8) New game scenarios such as Mecc vs. Kabuto and Reaper vs. Kabuto and defend the base 9) Various bug fixes and integration of the previous patches.

For a First Person Shooter it is quite relaxing to play as the size of the maps mean, as you spawn sometimes it can take you 2 or 3 minutes before you actually have to engage in any online conflict.
As this might seem strange it gives you the time to think about what you are going to do and how you are going to do it.
When you do actually get into the thick of it, its an enjoyable game even online.
I can only imagine that the person previously reviewing it has had problems with less than average servers. And i would suggest he sticks with it, as when the game comes out on the 21st Feb there will be a lot more companies running their servers which means "Better Servers" |
